Do It All Ellefson Named State Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Two weeks ago, Florida SouthWestern State Softball star Haley Ellefson was named the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week for her work in the circle for the Buccaneers.  Tuesday, the sophomore was given a different honor as she was named the state's Player of the Week. 

Ellefson had a monster week at the plate, despite registering just six official at bats. She hit .833 (5-6) with three home runs and 12 RBIs, slugging a cool 2.333 on the week.  Tuesday against Kalamazoo Valley she was 1-2 with a pair of RBIs in a doubleheader sweep for the Bucs.  Wednesday she had a career day against Miami Dade, going a perfect 3-3 with three home runs and eight RBIs in game one of the doubleheader before going 1-1 with two RBIs in game two of the twinbill. 

On the season Ellefson is hitting .375 with five home runs and 24 RBIs while also posting an 11-1 record and a 2.03 ERA in the circle for the Bucs. 

Ellefson and the Bucs are back in action on Saturday at South Florida State where they will open up Suncoast Conference play with the Panthers in a single game beginning at 1 PM in Avon Park.
