Laudino Grabs Second FPN National Player of the Week Award

CULVER CITY, CA.- Finishing off a collegiate softball all-time record hit streak at 49 games last week, Florida SouthWestern State freshman Rebeca Laudino has been named the Fastpitch News National Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Laudino made college softball history with her 49 game hit streak, longer than anyone to ever put on a uniform across all levels of college softball.  Four of those contests came last week, where she hit .444 with seven runs scored and four RBI's.  She came up big for the Bucs in their defacto conference title matchup with #19 State College of Florida last week, going 6 for 8 with a double, a home run, four runs scored, and three RBI's in a pair of FSW victories.

After restarting a new hit streak on Tuesday with three knocks for the Bucs in a pair of wins over South Florida State to clinch the Suncoast Conference Championship, Laudino is hitting .529 with 75 runs scored and 41 stolen bases on the season.

Laudino and the Bucs wrap up their conference slate on Thursday when they travel to Polk State for a makeup game of last Tuesday's rainout. The Bucs and Eagles are set for a 4:30 first pitch.
