Collins Earns Second National Pitcher of the Week Award

CULVER CITY, CA.- For the second time in three weeks, Florida SouthWestern State righthander Kelsi Collins has been named the Fastpitch News National Pitcher of the Week as released by the organization Tuesday.

Collins pitched in three straight games for the Bucs last weekend, earning a pair of wins and a save to improve to 6-0 on the year.  In her first outing, she went the distance against Gulf Coast State, allowing just two earned runs while striking out nine against the Commodores.  Saturday she came in from the bullpen to earn her first save of the season, going 1 2/3 perfect innings to close out Snead State.  She would remain in the circle to start the Bucs next game against Northwest Florida State and went four innings, striking out 10 Raiders in a lopsided win for FSW.  She finished the week 2-0 with a save, notching a 1.65 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings pitched.

Collins and the Bucs are 13-0 on the year and will be back in action Thursday on the road at Palm Beach State before returning home for an exhibition against the Japanese National Team Friday at City of Palms Park.
