FORT MYERS, Fla.- The #20 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers dominated in the paint, outscoring the visiting Spartanburg Methodist Pioneers 58-30 in the purple on the night to sun away with an 87-58 win to even up their record at 3-3 on the year.

Spartanburg Methodist came out firing in the opening minutes, jumping out to an early 5-0 lead, but the Bucs scored the next seven points to take their first lead of the night at 7-5 four minutes in.  The game was tied at 10 following a three from Jadrian Tracey when the Bucs went on a 9-0 run capped by a huge and one dunk from Jamal Davis to put FSW in front 19-10 at the midway mark of the first.  The Bucs continued to pad their lead, stretching it to 37-23 before the first half horn sounded at the break.

Tyson Brown made it a 16 point game on the Bucs first possession of the second half, but the Pioneers scored the next seven straight to trim it back to a single digit game at 39-30 with 18:25 to go.  The Bucs watched their cushion deflate to only six at the 17:00 mark, but they stepped on the gas from there, going on a 10-0 run, capped by a breakaway slam from Bradley Douglas to make it 51-35 FSW with 13:00 to go. Spartanburg never threatened again as the Bucs lead doubled and then moved to 30 in the final moments before FSW finished the Pioneers off 87-58 at the final horn.

The Bucs shot just under 50% from the field on the night with Tracey and Brown both dialing up 14 point, 11 rebound double-doubles in the contest.  13 different Bucs scored in the win while 12 of the 13 had at least one rebound.

FSW improves to 3-3 on the year while Spartanburg falls to 5-2.

The Bucs are back in action on Tuesday when they host St. Petersburg in a 7:00 tip from Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
