DAVIE, Fla.- Four years, and 115 wins ago, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers set off on their first road trip in program history.  The Bucs made the trip across Alligator Alley to play their first game as a program, squaring off against ASA Miami.  That brings us today's 'On This Date in FSW Athletics History' moment, the Bucs first win in program history. 

The Bucs jumped out to an early lead against the Silver Storm and led the final 18:30 of the first half to take a 32-27 lead into the locker rooms at half.  Tremell and Anthony Murphy led the Bucs in the scorebook the first half, combining for 15 points.  FSW opened up a double digit lead early in the second half, but ASA stormed back, tying the game with 12:38 to go and taking their first lead since the opening minutes with 8:39 remaining. With their backs to the wall, the Bucs dug their heels in defensively and stymied the Silver Storm from there, eventually pushing back ahead and closing ASA out 65-59 to claim their first win in the first game in program history. 

The Murphy twins both scored in double figures in the win and were joined by ShanQuan Hemphill with 10 himself.  Anthony Murphy had the program's first field goal, free throw, and points, while Tremell nailed the Bucs' first three pointer.  Ed Porter had FSW's first dunk in program history while Hemphill had the first assist, Nych Smith dished out the first assist, and Malik Hunt had the first blocked shot. 

The Bucs went on to go 26-7 in their inaugural campaign, posting a 10-2 mark in Suncoast Conference play and reaching the FCSAA State Tournament in their first opportunity.
