TREVISO, Italy- Former Florida SouthWestern State guard Tyler Cheese has inked his first professional contract, signing with Italy's Treviso Basket for the 2020-2021 season. 

Cheese, a member of the Bucs' All-Decade Team of the 2010s played in Fort Myers from FSW's inagural season in 2016 through the end of the 2018 campaign.  He was a two time All-Conference pick for the Bucs, ranking in the top five in program history in scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals.  His 262 assists and 93 career steals both stood as all-time program records until this season.  He is one of just two players in program history to produce a 40 point game, going so in a thrilling overtime win over IMG. 

After graduating from FSW, Cheese headed to the University of Akron where he was equally as effective for the Zips at the Division I level.    As a senior this season, Cheese averaged 15.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, leading Akron to the MAC Championship and what would have likely been a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the Zips.  He scored in double figures in each of his final 19 collegiate games, wrapping up his four years with 1,631 points between FSW and Akron. 

Cheese heads to Italy where he will suit up for Treviso Basket during his rookie season.  TVB is a member of Italy's A League, which has existed since 1920 and is the top league in the country.  Treviso is one of 17 teams in the league which typically begins in October.  With rules limiting the number of foreign players on each club, Cheese is joined by Americans Jeffrey Carroll (Oklahoma State, Dewayne Russell (Grand Canyon), and David Logan (Indianapolis) in Treviso.
