Four Bucs Named to JucoRecruiting.com Player Rankings List

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Once again the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were well represented in the JucoRecruiting.com Top 100 Player Rankings released on Wednesday as Keon Ellis (9), Berrick JeanLouis (31), and Simeon Kirkland (68) all found their way inside the top 70 while Jalen Finch was tabbed just outside the top 100 as an Honorable Mention selection.

Ellis is the Bucs leading scorer 11 games in, putting up 14.7 points per game on 51% shooting from the floor.  He has also been a stalwart on the defensive end for FSW, leading the team in steals per game with 2.7 and is second in blocks at 1.1 a night.  Ellis has put up all of these numbers despite a slow start to the season that saw him score in double figures in just one of FSW's first four games of the year.  Since then, he has put up seven straight double digit scoring efforts, averaging just under 20 points per game during the stretch.

JeanLouis is second on the team in scoring behind Ellis, putting up 13.8 points per game in the early going.  The New Mexico State transfer has been an explosive weapon for the Bucs this season, scoring in double figures in 9 of 11 contests, including topping the 20 point mark twice.  A well rounded player, JeanLouis has also contributed in other ways, putting up either 4 or more points, or 4 or more assists in 10 of 11 games.

Kirkland has made a huge jump during his sophomore season, going from playing just 10 minutes per game last season, to averaging 10 points per game this season.  He leads the Bucs, shooting 66% from the field this season while sitting third on the club in rebounds at 4.7 and blocks at 0.6 per game.  He has scored in double figures seven times for FSW this season and posted his first career double-double against Snow.

Finch has been steady as an ox at the point guard spot for FSW this season.  He leads the team in minutes played with 28.9 per night and has made the most of his floor time, putting in 10.8 points and 5.5 assists per game on the year.  Rolling a strong finish to his freshman season right into the start of his sophomore campaign, Finch has scored in double figures eight times this season and has registered five or more assists eight different times as well.

FSW is currently ranked #7 in the country behind a 10-1 start to the season.  They return to play on Friday when they host Combine Academy in a 7 PM tip in Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
