FSW #3 in First 2019 Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Off to a 16-1 start to the year, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers moved up two spots to #3 in the first NJCAA Top 25 Poll of 2019, the programs second highest ranking in history.

FSW's win on the road at St. Petersburg Saturday gave the Bucs their 16th win of the 2018-19 campaign, the second most wins of any program in the country to this point in the season.  The Bucs defense has been what has guided them to the big start as FSW has allowed just 67.2 points per game despite playing one of the most competitive non-conference schedules in the country this season.

Vincennes takes over the top spot in this week's poll as one of three unbeaten left in the Division I ranks.  Despite a loss to NJCAA Division II member Scottsdale last week, South Plains sticks at #2 ahead of the Bucs at #3.  Ranger checks in at #4 and 13-1 John A. Logan rounds out the top five in week five of the rankings.

The Bucs lead five Region  VIII teams in the poll which includes #6 Tallahassee, #8 Northwest Florida State, #11 Chipola, and #21 Daytona State

FSW is back in action on Wednesday in Suncoast Credit Union Arena when they host Hillsborough in a 7:30 PM tip in their Suncoast Conference home opener.
