Jared Campbell Joins Twin Jordon, Inks at Point Park

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Point Park University opponents will be double taking on the diamond for the next three years as Florida SouthWestern slugger Jared Campbell has joined his twin brother Jordon in signing with the Pioneers to continue his academic and athletic career in Pittsburgh next season.

Campbell was a key cog in the Bucs run to a second straight Suncoast Conference Championship this season, playing in 45 ballgames and hitting .293 with seven extra base hits and 19 RBIs.  He had seven multi-hit games on the year including a three hit contest against Pasco-Hernando in which he went a perfect 3-3 and accounted for seven runs with four scored and three driven in.  Also an excellent fielder, Campbell was a perfect 61 for 61 in defensive chances in 2021. 

Campbell will join a Pioneers squad who finished 2021 with a record of 40-16 and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament. 

Campbell is the 15th Buc to sign at the next level this season, joining Carlos Rodriguez (Brewers), Alex Ayala (Rays), Abimelec Ortiz (Rangers),  Antonio Knowles (Florida/Dodgers), Luis Tuero (Arizona), Carter Cunningham (East Carolina), Marc Davis (South Florida/Nationals), Warnner Rincones (Louisiana-Lafayette), Robert Wegielnik (Florida Atlantic), Daniel Vos (Erskine), Daniel Maldonado (Cumberlands), Matt Whitney (McPherson), Brendan Koester (IU-Southeast), and his twin brother Jordon Campbell (Point Park).
