Burton to Team Up with Bagnieski at Radford
FORT MYERS, Fla.- There will be two Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers playing in Radford, Virginia next season after righthander Ty Burton signed to join Bucs teammate Connor Bagnieski with the Highlanders of Radford University for the 2020-2021 season on Friday.

Burton pitched in a team high 11 games for the Bucs this season as a redshirt freshman.  He logged 14 2/3 innings, striking out 16 and walking just four. He started one game this season, going two innings against Miami Dade in late February.  His longest outing of the year came one week later when he went 2 1/3 in the Bucs' conference opening win over Polk State.

He will join a Highlanders squad that was 9-8 in a COVID shortened season in 2020.  In their last full campaign, Radford finished 30-27 and went 19-8 in conference play to finish as the Big South runners-up in 2019.

With all spring sport athletes across the NCAA and NJCAA regaining a year of eligibility for their shortened 2020 seasons, Burton will have four years to play at Radford.

Burton is the 19th NCAA Division I signee for the Bucs in the past two seasons and the sixth off of this year's FSW squad.
