Kinsch Becomes Bucs' 12th 2019 Division I Signee

FORT MYERS, Fla.- A program record 12th Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneer signed at the NCAA Division I level on Monday as Bucs infielder Nathan Kinsch inked with the University of North Carolina-Charlotte to play for the 49ers next season.

Kinsch led the Bucs with 33 RBI's in his only season at FSW, hitting .239 with eight doubles and two home runs in 50 games played.  He started his FSW hot after transferring in from Coastal Carolina at the break, recording three multi-hit games in his first six appearances for the Purple and Aqua.  He finished the season with 11 such contests, the last three in a pivotal three game set with Hillsborough late in the year to help the Bucs clinch their first Suncoast Conference Championship.

Charlotte was 21-31-1 in 2019, finishing 11-18-1 in Conference USA action.  It was a down year for the 49ers who have won 30 or more games in the two seasons leading up to 2019.

After putting together their best season in program history at 40-14, making their first appearance at the FCSAA State Tournament following their first Suncoast Conference title, the Bucs will return to the field to begin their 2019-20 campaign on September 21st when they travel to Auburndale to take part in a fall tournament.
