Bucs Head to State Tournament Ranked 11th in NJCAA Polls

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After wrapping up their first Suncoast Conference Championship in program history on Wednesday, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers wrapped up the regular season ranked #11 in the NJCAA as announced by the National Office on Tuesday.

FSW finished the 2019 regular season 40-12 and 21-9 in Suncoast Conference play after failing to break the .500 mark in their first three seasons. The Bucs are also playing right at the right time, having won 11 of 12 down the stretch and four straight heading into the FCSAA State Tournament on Friday.

The top four in the week 10 poll remained the same with Wabash Valley again leading the way and Central Florida, Gordon State, and Wallace State following in behind. Northwest Florida State joins the group in the top five this week, up two spots from number seven in the week nine poll. Navarro, Harford, and New Mexico are the three newcomers to the poll as they take over the last three spots in the top 20 while Connors St., Cochise, and Salt Lake drop out of the rankings.

FSW returns to action on Friday in their first appearance at the FCSAA State Tournament.  The Bucs will take on Mid-Florida runners-up Santa Fe at 4 PM in the third game of the day.  The Bucs and Saints split a pair of one run games at City of Palms Park in mid-February.
