Suncoast Credit Union Arena Voted NJCAA's Best

Suncoast Credit Union Arena Voted NJCAA's Best

FORT MYERS, Fla.- While there was no bracket play going on at the NJCAA National Tournament this spring, there were matchups being played out and coming down to the closing minutes in the T3 Bracketology Top Arena Poll. At the end, there was just one left standing and that was Suncoast Credit Union Arena, home of the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers.  The Bucs' home digs brought home the title of the NJCAA's top arena with a 59% to 41% victory over Northwest Florida State's Raider Arena in the all Florida final.

The Bucs Basketball and Volleyball teams went 33-4 at home in their state of the art $25,000,000 friendly confines in 2019-2020.  The FSW Men's Basketball team went 15-1 at home and posted another undefeated Suncoast Conference season at home while the Bucs' Women went 12-2 overall and were also perfect at home in conference play for the second straight season.  The Bucs' Volleyball team went 6-1 at home in their inaugural campaign in the fall.

The T3 Bracketology bracket that crowned the Bucs champions was a fan driven poll that saw FSW march through three rounds to claim their rightful title.  The bracket, which asked fans to vote on the top arena/atmostphere combo, started with FSW going head to head against Angelina.  While the Roadrunners and Shads Gymnasium put up an early fight, in the end, the Bucs and Suncoast Arena were too much, winning 62% to 38% to advance to the Final Four.  In a National Semifinal that very well could have represented a real life semifinal on the Men's Basketball side, the Bucs took on Vincennes and their P.E. Complex venue.  It was a blowout from the start for the Bucs and Suncoast as they breezed to an 89% to 11% victory to make it to the final.  The final, as it should, was an all Florida battle between the Bucs and Suncoast Arena up against Northwest Florida State and the home of the FCSAA State Tournament, Raider Arena.  It was a highly contested battle, drawing 425 total votes, 251 of those going towards the Purple and Aqua to give the Bucs the title.
